America in the Sixties

The 1960s remain one of most interesting periods in American history. During this time several experimental and revolutionary cultural, social and political movements emerged and the status quo was called into question. Using original texts, articles, literature, film and music, we will look at these movements and attempt to understand the ideas and ideals that were expressed, celebrated and fought over during that tumultuous era.

Students will be expected to do regular reading, participate in discussions, and give one presentation on a topic of their choice.
