Understanding Films

Films are complex works of art that can be analysed on many different levels: narrative structure, acting, photography, sound, film genre, etc. are all important factors that contribute to the effect a film has on its viewers.

In the course of this EP2, we will study extracts from a variety of films and learn to analyse and evaluate how films work. Our programme will also include the study of films that are based on English novels or plays. This will allow us to compare the different ways in which films and literary texts tell a story.
